Developed initially for our friends over in the UK, we've decided to offer our Extra Bitter Tonic as a stand-alone product.

We've added a richer expression of Quinine for a fuller, drier Gin & Tonic. This premium tonic pairs wonderfully with a classic, juniper forward Gin.

All of the nuanced flavors of our Original Classic Tonic Syrup that you have grown to love, with an added bitterness and none of that terrible aftertaste left behind with commercial tonic waters.

Quinine was once considered a cure for malaria. We aren't doctors, so the only thing we definitively know it will cure is the happy hour conundrum.

NOT quite as advertised

Billed as Extra Bitter, but in reality tastes more like Sour Patch or Sour Gummy Worm candy—with a similar aftertaste. Problem is, there are legal limits to how much Quinine can be added beverages (it’s Quinine that imparts the slightly bitter taste of Tonic Water) and there are known health risks when those limits are exceeded. One assumes Jack obeys these limits, and there in lies the problem. This stuff tastes different, but not significantly more bitter than a standard like Canada Dry or Schweppes. Someone, someday may come up a safe and legal way to make a more bitter tonic but buddy, this ain’t it.

Really enjoyed the extra bitter tonic- it’s perfectly balanced and a little less sweet than the original. Nice to have a customizable option like this!

I love an extra bitter tonic where the quinine really comes through. This stuff balances so well, especially with a moderate to heavy botanical gin.

Extra Bitter Tonic mix

I cannot find the Indian Premium Tonic Water with extra quinine.
I can take regular tonic water and add a spoonful of Jack Rudy Extra Bitter Tonic and I am right where I want to be on the bitter scale vs sweet. Great stuff.
