Extra Bitter Tonic

$10.00

8 ounce bottle

Developed initially for our friends over in the UK, we've decided to offer our Extra Bitter Tonic as a stand-alone product.

We've added a richer expression of Quinine for a fuller, drier Gin & Tonic. This premium tonic pairs wonderfully with a classic, juniper forward Gin.

All of the nuanced flavors of our Original Classic Tonic Syrup that you have grown to love, with an added bitterness and none of that terrible aftertaste left behind with commercial tonic waters.

Quinine was once considered a cure for malaria. We aren't doctors, so the only thing we definitively know it will cure is the happy hour conundrum.

Best gin and tonic ever

It's true, no hyperbole needed here. Beefeater is my go-to, but try one of those more botanical styles makes for something extra nice.

Extra Bitter Tonic is the Best!

I’ve tried quite a few tonic syrups and Jack Rudy is my absolute favorite. The flavor is bold and solid (for a little less bold flavor the regular tonic syrup is very good as well) Try it with a couple drops of their Grapefruit Bitters - you won’t be sorry!

Something is Missing

I purchased this as well as the Elderflower Tonic after getting a soda stream and reading several brand reviews. I was sorely disappointed when I tried making my soda stream seltzer into tonic water with these products. The taste is nothing at all like Fever Tree or other top quality brand tonics. I tried adding the tonic in various ratios to the carbonated water, as well as making a G&T with it, and couldn't come close to the correct flavor profiles (with this and with the elderflower). Then my husband and I did a science experiment: we took a sample of each tonic into a dark room and turned on our black light. Zero fluorescence. The missing component is that there is zero quinine in this product. All tonic containing quinine will fluoresce, even cheap tonic water loaded up with high fructose corn syrup. So if you're looking for a tonic concentrate to make real tonic water or G&Ts with, this will not give you what you're looking for.

Bought this tonic to use alongside carbonated water from our soda stream. Great taste and high quality - will definitely repurchase. This bottle is small so it’s worth getting a few at a time!
